Travels

From Vaclav Havel Airport to the main train station in Prague (Hlavni nadrazi): The easiest way is to use the bus “Airport Express” (AE) from terminal 1. You can buy a ticket directly from the bus driver (100 CZK). The AE bus line operates daily at 30-minute intervals between 5:30 and 21:00. You can also use google maps and uber or bolt in Prague. A website (www.idos.cz) can be used to check the timetable and connections of all the public transport links in the Czech Republic.

From Prague (Hlavni nadrazi) to České Budějovice: The train connection to České Budějovice is quite frequent, about every hour between 6:00 and 22:00. It takes about 2 hours 30 min for 150-200 CZK. You can buy your train ticket at the ticket office or online (www.cd.cz/en/) before getting on the train. Many bus companies provide bus transport from Prague to České Budějovice. The most common are Student Agency (www.studentagency.eu/en/) and Flixbus (www.flixbus.com).

From the train station to the University of South Bohemia: The bus station is on the side of the commercial centre “Mercury” in front of the train station. To get to the university, take the n°3 bus from the stop that is located in front of the shopping centre and get off at “Jihoceska univerzita”. The same bus goes through the city centre. Be careful, google map does not give information about the buses in České Budějovice. It is best to use www.idos.cz.

Greetings dear committee, I will arrive in České Budějovice on Monday June 19 for the conference. Please just to know if you could help with a cheaper accommodation there given that my budget is really limited.

    Thanks,
